Hello there! I can’t believe it’s August already…the summer is just flying by! Today not only marks the beginning of a new month, it marks my ONE MONTH BLOGIVERSARY!!! A month ago I decided to take the plunge and publish my first post. I didn’t anticipate the amount of support I would get from the blogging community or how quickly I would fall in love with blogging.
In one month of blogging, I have garnered 85+ followers and 403 views from 14 countries. I know that in comparison to other bloggers out there, those numbers may seem less than impressive but, to be perfectly honest, I’m really proud of myself. Since I work full-time and blog in my spare time, I knew going into this that my growth would be a bit slower but I’m still amazed at those numbers. Blogging was never something I thought that I could do, let alone keep up with, and now I can’t imagine not doing it.
I owe a lot of this early blog growth to social media. I started using Twitter follow/comment trains and Facebook groups as a way to connect with a wider range of people. By doing this, I’ve been exposed to a wider range of blogs and I’ve met some amazing bloggers.
Now that it’s August, I thought that I would share some of my goals for my second month of blogging. (These are in no particular order)
- I want to continue to build my engagement with my readers both on my blog and on my social media platforms. Last month I was definitely more active on Twitter than I’ve ever been but I felt that my presence on Instagram and Facebook were lagging a bit. In the next month, I’m going to make a conscious effort to amp up my activity on all social media and on my blog.
- This one’s pretty simple: I would like to hit 150 blog followers by September 1st. I’ve seen my blog steadily grow since I started it, and I want to improve upon that and connect with more lovely people.
- I want to be more cognizant when it comes to when and what I’m posting. I am a huge procrastinator and I usually wait until the day before I post to start writing and, by that time, I’m usually scrambling to find something to write about. I realized that doing this adds unneeded stress to my life so I’m going to try my hardest to plan out my posts and write in advance.
