August Recap & September Goals

Hi there!! I hope everyone’s had a great summer. Mine has had its ups and downs but, overall, it was good. Well, it’s that time of the month again where I look back at my goals, see how I did, and make new ones. Really, though? I feel like I just did this. Anyway, let’s see how I did in August, shall we?

Before I get into the recap, I just wanted to mention that although this was my second month of blogging, August was the first month that I actually made goals for myself. Some I met, some I didn’t. I’ve also included some stats for the sake of recapping and setting goals.

The Recap:

First off, I’m very happy to say that I made my blog follow goal of 150! Technically, my rate of followers decreased from July, however, I’m still proud of myself for committing to this goal.

My amount of Twitter followers has increased a lot the past month. At the time I’m writing this, I have 324 followers. This is important to me since this is the main way I promote my blog.

My page views for the month of August (200) were half of what they were for July (403). I’m chalking this up to taking almost two weeks off from blogging and social media to deal with things in my personal life.

September Goals:

As I go into my third month of blogging, there are a few things I would like to focus on. A few of these goals are ones that I was unable to meet last month. These are in no particular order and are of no particular importance.

  • One of the goals I wasn’t able to meet in August was planning out my posts in advance. Most times, I’m scrambling to put together a blog post at the last minute (I can’t help it…I’m a procrastinator). I know that many bloggers plan out their posts for the month and write them far in advance and I eventually would like to get there. For now, I’m committing to jotting down blog post ideas when they come to mind so I’m not racking my brain the day of.
  • Follow goals: I would like to hit 250 blog followers by October 1st (I know that’s a crazy big goal), 450 followers on Twitter, and 350 followers on Instagram.
  • Lastly, I want to continue to build my engagement on Instagram and Facebook. I feel like I did a better job on Instagram last month but I still would like to be more active on Facebook and in my blogger groups. I want to connect to more lovely bloggers!

As always, thank you for reading my blog…all of the love and support has been greatly appreciated these past couple of months. I have some fun blog posts for the month of September. Let me know in the comment section what some of your goals for this month are and be sure to follow my blog if you’re not already. Have a great weekend!

  1. Goal-setting is so important, especially in the case of running your own blog! This post really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

(Just a side note: I recently bought a planner to help me stay organized! It’s helped me tremendously, since I have a tendency to procrastinate, too!) 🙂🙋🏻👍🏼

  2. Planning out my posts has always been something that I’ve wanted to do just to make my blogging life easier and I’ve never been able to do it. Honestly, it’s laziness and it’s definitely something that is fixable.

Good luck on your goals! x
